Summer (2020–2022)
Acrylic on canvas, 20 x 20 in.
A field of warm, sun-drenched orange fills the canvas edge to edge, its surface built up in visible, weathered strokes. Just left of center, a small deep red square sits like a held breath — a quiet interior within the heat. Started in 2020 and resolved two years later, the piece carries the patience of that gap: color layered and reworked until the stillness felt earned. Restrained in form but rich in warmth, Summer distills a season down to color, weight, and quiet.
